REHEARSALS FOR
THE REAL THING
The media have called. You're in panic mode.
You feel you're not ready to handle that
7.30
Report interview with Kerry O'Brien.
They're coming to
your office to record the interview at 11.30am. What do
you do?
Well, you call us and we arive
at your office (trainer and camera operator) at
9.00am
and put you through two hours of intense rehearsal for the real
interview. You get pumped and, guess what? You sail
though the real interview because you'd been
challenged on the
main sticking points several times before the real thing
and you felt really prepared for it. We'd workshopped the
best answers to the worst questions and your confidence
soared with each passing minute.
That's no fantasy. We provide
that service to our clients and they love it. Our best effort
was walking down the stairs of
a company's city Head Office as the crew for
The 7.30
Report
was walking up the
stairs. We often deliberately time our rehearsals that close
to make sure you're really pumped for the real
thing.
On other occasions, we've
carried out simulated interviews and
critiques over the
phone as the real media crew were driving to you. I
remember one occasion when a mine manager was facing a
media interview interstate and we reheased him over the
phone before he faced the real thing.
